Course description
This advanced virtual course focuses on applying change management techniques to support successful organisational transformation. Moving beyond theory, learners will explore how to plan, manage, and sustain change initiatives in complex environments.
The course is aligned to the APMG Change Management body of knowledge and uses scenario-based learning to develop practical capability in areas such as stakeholder engagement, leadership alignment, and managing organisational impact. It equips participants to actively contribute to and guide change initiatives within their organisation.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply change management frameworks and techniques to real-world scenarios
- Analyse organisational contexts and tailor change approaches accordingly
- Plan and manage change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and communication
- Support leaders and sponsors in driving change effectively
- Evaluate and improve change strategies to enhance successful adoption and sustainability.
Study time
- Typically delivered as a 2 day virtual course following Foundation-level learning
- Includes pre-course preparation and post-session study to reinforce application and prepare for the Practitioner exam
- Requires a greater level of self-study and applied practice due to the scenario-based assessment approach.
Assessment
- Exam format: Objective testing, scenario-based (open book)
- Duration: 2½ hours
- Structure: Multiple questions based on a case scenario, assessing the ability to apply knowledge
- Pass mark: 50%
- Outcome: Confirms the candidate’s ability to apply change management principles in a practical context.
