Course description
This interactive virtual course introduces the core disciplines of project planning and control, aligned to recognised APMG-based guidance. Participants will explore how projects are defined, planned, scheduled, monitored, and closed, with a focus on ensuring control, visibility, and predictability throughout the project lifecycle.
The course is designed to provide a solid understanding of the terminology, roles, and practices used by planning and project control professionals, enabling learners to contribute effectively within project support or delivery environments.

- Understand the key principles, terminology, and roles in project planning and control
- Describe how projects are defined, planned, and structured for effective delivery
- Recognise appropriate scheduling approaches and techniques
- Understand methods for monitoring performance and maintaining control across the lifecycle
- Appreciate the importance of accurate data, reporting, and record-keeping to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

- Supported by additional self-study and revision to reinforce understanding and prepare for the examination
- Includes a blend of tutor-led sessions, exercises, and practical discussion.
Assessment
- 40 minutes to complete the exam
- 25 marks are required to pass (25/50) — 50%
- This is a closed-book exam.
